"My compositions acknowledge the dreams, memories and moments that shade every experience.”

Nancy L Greco is an American visual artist born and raised in Connecticut. She attended Southern Connecticut State University, Wesleyan University and the Ohio State University where she earned her Master of Fine Arts.

While working on her Master of Fine Arts, she received a Ford Foundation Grant to research the etching and printing of her finely rendered lithographs. After graduating, she received two grants from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts - an Individual Artist's Grant to create a suite of seven large drawings Dreams and a Visiting Artist's Grant for Lithography workshops for educators and students. In 1982, Greco held two solo exhibitions of her drawings and lithographs– Surreal Drawings and Lithographs at the Martin Sumers Gallery on 57th Street in New York City and Dreams at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Connecticut. Early awards for her drawings, lithographs and paintings include the First Award in the Pratt Graphics 6th International Miniature Print Exhibition in NYC, and a First Place in The Connecticut Women Artists Open Juried Exhibition.

More recently in 2015, Greco had a solo exhibition of her drawings and paintings Threshold at Underground Gallery. In 2016, she was awarded First Prize in the First Annual Juried Show at Maple and Main Gallery in Chester, Connecticut. In 2017, Greco had a solo exhibition of her drawings and paintings Veil at Maple and Main Gallery. Later that year, she received an Individual Artist Grant from the Artist's Resource Trust of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. In September 2018, Greco had a solo show Messengers at The Gallery on the Green, Canton, Connecticut. In November 2018, Trustman Art Gallery at Simmons University in Boston was the venue for a solo show Recurrence of Greco’s work. Recurrence traces the appearance and transformation of symbolic imagery through nearly five decades of Greco's prints and drawings. In 2019 Greco was awarded The Maxwell Shepherd Prize at Gallery on the Green for “Scream”- an emotional image that resonates with many during this volatile time of our lives. In September 2020, Greco hung the solo show Reflections in the Upstairs Gallery at Gallery on the Green in tandem with a virtual show Reflections on this website. Greco received the Council Award for “Wrapped Ponies” in the Connecticut Women Artists Online National Juried Open Exhibition shortly after. In the 2021 CWA National Juried Open Exhibition, she again received the Council Award, this time for the drawing “At the Top of the Stairs”. “Wrapped Ponies” was featured at the Silo Gallery in New Milford, CT and was awarded Second Place in the exhibition Salon de Litchfield 2022. In 2023, “Girl Tribe” was selected Best of Show in the 55th Annual Open Juried Exhibition, Gallery on the Green, Canton, CT.
On another artistic path, Greco’s drawings are featured on the record jacket of the album Alchemical Task by Lore City, and her paintings grace their album Participation Mystique.
